Price Comparison Study and Tool for Farmers Markets
This study of prices for produce at farmers markets and nearby brick and mortar stores in Georgia showed that nutrition incentives brought farmers market prudce to within .06 cents of grocery store produce even as farmers market produce was consistently fresher and of higher quality. In addition, researchers developed a protocol and tools to support sites who wish to perform price comparisons with nearby brick and mortar stores where customers may be shopping for produce with SNAP.
