Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, our nation’s farmers and food workers have remained hard at work to provide for our survival. This moment is clarifying our reliance on workers who are navigating a system already rooted in inequities. These 21+ million members of our food system are truly essential workers – without them, few of us will eat. Yet many are facing dangerous conditions, and have little access to protective gear.
